Yes I agree, $500 for a top quality
printer is well worth it.

don't use anything other than Epson paper unless you want to spend money on
fine art paper by a good 3rd party. Epson printers put out more ink than HP
or Canon printers and unless you spend a lot of time playing with custom
ink settings in the printer driver to calibrate for a specific paper, you
are going to have very splotchy prints or strange metallic reflections from
the black ink. i use only Epson Professional media or the Premium Glossy
Photo paper for final prints. i like the Glossy, Luster, and Semigloss
finishes. the 3rd party paper i like the most is Lumijet Preservation
Series Classic Velour for matte prints. it's warmer than the Epson paper
though.
