Thanks to all for your comments. If you follow the original link and then scroll to the next image in my PESO gallery you will find a revised image. I lightened it overall (thanks Larry) by another .3 stops, I nudged the Shadows slider up a bit (thanks Paul), and I tightened the crop (thanks Ann and Ken).
As to reading his expression, actually he is acting like a good model and saying “can you see me ok now? Is this a good pose?” This shot is the 2nd or 3rd in a series, he had been higher in the tree, more obscured by branches in the earlier shots. He scampered lower, checked to make sure I got the shot, then vanished.
