Just returned from a small shopping expedition: found our local supermarket with 30 metres of empty shelves where the meat is usually found, and two metres of empty cold cabinet where frozen fruit is found. Lots of other blanks as well: seeing that the car park, usually crowded, was half empty, I deduce that the mad crowd has driven off to stage a raid on the nearest alternative shops! If they've stocked up on frozen fruit, one understands why they needed to buy so much toilet paper...
I quote from a friend's email: Apparently the first person in Adelaide has sadly died because of the coronavirus. In his house they found 500 cans of assorted food, 100kg of pasta, 75kg of rice, 200 toilet rolls and 30L of hand sanitiser, which he had panic bought from Coles "just in case!" ... The whole lot collapsed and buried the stupid Prick ..
