I’ve been pretty cautious about going out, about being in contact with

otherwise Stay Home.
I spent most of the day making one of these ...

... slightly modified since I don't have access to the kind of filters they use.
I didn't have a kit, so I made it from the materials I have on hand. My material
is a bit thicker & I'm not a professional seamstress, so assembling my mask
didn't go quite as smoothly as the video.
The shell is a tightly woven polyester (like the fabric that covered your
grandmother's couch) and I sacrificed a high quality (linen?) dinner napkin for
the liner.
But I only made three mistakes I had to go back & rework. And one of those is
NOT MY FAULT ... I cut the elastic longer than the pattern called for and it
still ended up too short & I had to replace it with still longer elastic.
For the filter I'm using 10-12 cup Mr.Coffee filters - 2x doubled over to give
me four layers in front of my nose & mouth.
You can download the pattern here:

I also have these gloves (I keep a box around just for scut work):

Wearing them when I go out should be sufficient reminder not to touch my face.
I am staying home. I didn't make my weekly shopping trip this last Tuesday, but
I will run out of 4-cup filters for my Mr. Coffee early next week (I have an
almost full box of the 10-12 cup filters but they won't work in my coffee maker.
I've already tried. They flop over & I end up with a pot full of coffee grinds.
So I probably WILL be making a shopping trip next Tuesday.
I'm not counting on the mask to keep me from getting COVID19, but I hope if I do
somehow get it & have to go out again during the pre-symptomatic contagious
period the mask might help me not to be the one spreading it around.
