The software is completely the same. The features and frequency of
updates are also the same.

I subscribe to the ten buck option because (a) I'm cheap, and (b) I
don't need any off-site space. Most of the other odds and ends in the
"Photoshop" plan is in the $10 one too, like Portfolio (I don't use
it), and Fonts (I should be using it).

The Creative Cloud application controls what is installed or not, and
lets you downgrade to prior versions if something fucks up. (I am
currently running one Ps version behind because they broke some
crucial plugins with the latest.)

Once I got over my snit with the subscription concept, I'm very happy
with the CC package. Recent features in Ps and Lr are the bees knees
and save me huge amounts of work, especially things like cloning out
random distracting objects. I'm also really digging LUTs for colour
grading in both Lr and Ps. (You can make a fancy LUT in Ps then import
it into Lr and avoid sending shots out to Ps purely to tone them if
you have a batch to do. It's a bit involved, but worth the effort in
many cases.)

HTH, Bill.
