There is/was a fancy coctail (back in the 60's when I wa still drinking such) that came in layers .. the difference in density between the liquers used, I guess kept the layers distinct as long as you put them in the glass in the right order..

After cooking some veggies, I didn’t want to just toss the leftover juices, 
butter etc. so I poured them into a jar to save for some more veggies, they 
settled out, and then the next time I cooked some I added to it, and so forth.  
Tonight before using all of them to season another batch of veggies, I took 
some photos of the jar, showing the different layers.
