A simple

YY

would have sufficed :0) but I got good VFM as always.

I’ve been using a Specialized Air Tool Road for about a million years. Perfect
for touring* and commuting when I have a saddlebag to put it in. But a bit too
big if I’m going out for a 2-3 hour ride without a saddlebag, just carrying
essentials. I don’t much like fixing it to the frame with a fandangle like the
one in your picture, but I do sometimes. I have some co2 cartridges in case of
emergency, but prefer not to use single-use stuff like that if I can avoid it.

*it could replace the wooden dowel in a Carradice bag, and indeed I carry it
strapped to the dowel with toast wraps [1] when I’m touring.

[1] this is what the Saturday staff in a bike shop thought I was asking for
once when I was looking for some toe straps. So that’s what they are to me now.
