I must say you are very observant &, Ralf, that is such a clever comment! From now on it will be my "Tumble Braaier".

It is actually the stainless steel inner drum from an old Hoover washing machine with the drive pulley reversed & re-fitted with a spacer as the pedestal. It works extremely well with charcoal, the perforations playing an important role in air supply.
