Yes, Spring is the time. Here in the warm Lowveld the birds are busy already (pre-spring). Some males are already sporting their mating plumage.

I've been trying for weeks to record some birds to test a new recorder
and some microphones and there's been total silence. Is there a time of

full and there's no more mating to be done?
