On my drive home yesterday, first I got waylaid by a nice sunset, and that cost me about an hour, then since I took a different route than my normal, (97 instead of 5) I stumbled across a nice vista point of Mount shasta, just as it got dark enough for astrolandscape stuff. I was about to make my escape when the clouds (and traffic) I had been fighting cleared up and I had to start all over. Long story short, about 5 am I pulled over on an offramp, and while I was rearranging the van so I’d have room to sleep, I set a camera up on a tripod with the interval timer to try to get some photos of the lightning storm.
California doesn’t get a lot of big thunderstorms, and this one, combined with some unusually hot weather lent a bunch of excitement to Central and Northern CA. I kept seeing lightning until almost 9AM. Here’s what I think was the best shot of the lightning: https://www.flickr.com/photos/ellarsee/50235925821/in/album-72157715518703801/ Half a dozen total in the set https://www.flickr.com/photos/ellarsee/albums/72157715518703801 -- Larry Colen [email protected] -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
