We are about 40 miles from the epicenter. We did not feel if/ There was a quake of about the same magnitude on the Alaskan Peninsula while we were there. I was sleeping, and woke up at the time of the quake, even though I did not feel any of its effects.
We sit atop something called the Peapack Fault. Every 5-10 years we experience a very mild (2.0 - 3.3) earthquake, but never any damage. Not like the one in CA.
