My reason is related (but not limited) to age.

When my daughter (now in her mid-30s) was a toddler, she pulled my Mamiya-Sekor
SLR off a table, and it died.

I went to Philly’s best camera shop (Mid-City Camera, now long gone). They had,
in my price and feature range, a Nikon N2020 and a Pentax Super Program.

The Pentax was soooo far superior in design, construction, and handling that I
bought it. And them a couple of lenses, And then a couple more. And then a
second Super Program body (which I still have).

So when the world turned digital, I got an istD. Then a K10D (which my son just
replaced for the sake of video ability; my daughter-in-law still uses the
K10D). Then a K7 (for more megapixels and higher ISO), and then the K-5 that
I’m still using, for almost 8 years).

Oh, and the lenses… Oy. Way too many to replace.

Rick
