If the scratches continued past where you had stopped shooting, I would say 
it was very possible that the photo lab had scratched your film. Possible 
from dirty racks in the film processor. However, since only the section of 
the film you ran through the camera is damaged, I would agree that it's 
probably the canister.

Yes.First few were light but very noticable.

Yes,some not as strong as others but they are there.

Thats what i'm hoping.I have put through about 4-5 colour rolls
and 5-6 B&W rolls and now 4 rolls of IR.This is the only
problem so far.
I cannot see it being dust or dirt,if it is i got one big
motha of a hole somewere :)
I was just wondering if others have had bad cannister days too??
