I have googled “lens ball” and found a thing called a lensball, which is a 
crystal ball of the type fortune tellers use. You take a picture through it - 
the image is inverted and distorted, so I assume ‘flipping’ it means turning it 
the right way up.

On the website one of the reviewers states that it comes with a ball sack. At 
that point I decided my quest was at an end.
