Larry, that is golden jelly fungus (Tremella mesenterica). We have it over here too.

I would love to go someplace interesting to play with my camera, but I’ve been under a big crunch doing repairs after last week’s windstorm and getting ready for the coming rain (NWS say likely 5”, possibly up to 10 (12-25cm) next week. But, even when you can’t go someplace interesting, sometimes you can find things in your own backyard. I was doing some cleanup down by the river bed and found an interesting mushroom in the gully where there used to be a flume for storm runoff (It’s a flume gully, golly!), I grabbed my camera and while I was down there found a few more things to point it at. I think this little thing is some sort of fungus. https://www.flickr.com/photos/ellarsee/50868615073/in/album-72157718017238452/ For them that are interested in the whole set: https://www.flickr.com/photos/ellarsee/albums/72157718017238452 -- Larry Colen [email protected]
