Sunday was a beautiful spring day, and we needed a hike. So, we headed for the Trolley Trail in northwest Philadelphia. There were almost no signs of spring up there (apart from an absence of snow), and my photography was limited. There were three keepers, though: 1. The Chamounix Mansion, built in 1802 as the summer retreat of a wealthy Philadelphia merchant. In the 20th century its fortunes declined, and demolition threatened before it bacame the first urban youth hostel in 1964. It was the shadows that got my attention. 2. The Trolley Tunnel follows the route of a long-abandoned trolley line through Fairmount Park. This is the interior of a tunnel that remains. 3. On our way back to the car at the end of our walk. There’s something about me and shadows… (K-5, DA 17-70) https://rickwomer.smugmug.com/2021/March-2021/Trolley-Trail/ Comments, from flattery to brickbats, always appreciated.
