Some are bred commercially for the market. Dark meat, strong flavour.
Then there is poaching, road kill & airport runway kill. The Guinea Fowl
population around Phalaborwa is noticeably smaller than it was 20 years
ago. Guinea Fowl surveys are one indicator of the state of the Veld.
