Sony hasn't built DSLRs for years. The SLT line that succeeded their
DSLRs were a way to get DSLRs focusing speeds in a mirrorless camera,
using the existing technology, and were only a stop gap, until they
could better auto focus from the same chip that did the imaging.
I guess it also had the side effect of keeping the Minolta faithful in
the fold, until they were no longer necessary.
I had forgotten that they still made SLT cameras.
The translucent part of that acronym is particularly annoying to me
since they were actually using pellicle mirrors, if they were
translucent the camera wouldn't work at all, at least not as a camera.
I am actually surprised they kept it up this long.
