Still recovering from my second full knee replacement surgery, so I’m not ready to carry my gear out into the yard, but I can sit in a chair on the deck. That location is more distant from the places where bird perch and feed, so I’ve swapped out my usual K-1 rig for a K-3 with D FA 150-450 and DA 1.4X converter. That gives me the reach a 945mm 35mm lens. So far, I like it. The k-3 is a wee bit noisier than the K-1 and the dimmer viewfinder can make it harder to find the birds, but otherwise it performs very well. A few from yesterday and today. Note, the shot called mom and pop. It’s at the feeder (horrors!), but it’s the most interesting of the bunch in that mom appears to be with child and dad appears to be standing guard while she dines. Birds are magnificent creatures!
