> Unfortunately my LX has the marks to prove it :-(

Yes, one of my LX's has a couple of "cosmetic" marks on the flat
black paint of its mirror box baffle. After performing the minor
mod to the lens, though, it is not a problem for that LX or any
other.

> No Pentax lens has marked my bodies :-)

True. Still, you have to admit that it is difficult to design a
lens that is guaranteed to work perfectly with all future bodies. Of
course, Pentax has the luxury of being able to make sure that its
newer bodies work with all of its own older lenses, and doesn't
really care if 3rd-party lenses are all forward-compatible - <g>.

Hmmm... This reminds me, though, of something similar - Didn't
Pentax have an incompatibility sometime back in the screwmount era?
Weren't there some newer bodies that couldn't be used with certain
older lenses, because the mirror would strike against the rear
element? (I'm sure that one of our screwmount aficionados can
clarify this foggy recollection...)
