A bit of google fu says the steel wheel xk140s have the same bolt pattern as a 50’s buick with 15” wheels. To me, those wheels look like they could well be aftermarket mags from the 60’s or 70’s, and could have been put on 50 years ago before the car had achieved it’s current sacrosanct status. If my interest in the car were to drive it rather than just let it appreciate in value in a hermetically sealed garage, I could easily see running those wheels rather than beat up stock steel ones.
