Rick beating me to the pun... I lichen them too..
Very early in my interest in photography I spent a lot of time on the
flat lichens on the north east
that rick mentions and the patterns they make on stone.. but there is
one that occurs here
"down east" .. in the atlantic provinces of Canada and our state of
Maine.. the british soldiers that
have little red caps and stand up...

Our lichens seem to be flatter and less colorful, at least in the northeast
