Rick, I was horrified to hear they are kept as pets. Quite true from what I found on the web. Mind you, thinking about it, the Red Billed , Yellow Billed & Grey Hornbills which are abundant in Kruger & frequent the camps & picnic spots looking for titbits become so tame they will eat from your hand. I suppose not much different to Parrots.

We have has another exotic species in town recently - the Purple Crested Turacao (formerly Lourie). Haven't managed a photo yet.
