Kelly Drive follows the Schuylkill River down the west side of Philadelphia. On

Kelly Drive, which follows the river.
North of Philadelphia the Schylkill was (and still is, in places) heavily
industrial, and was the primary means of shipping anthracite coal from central
Pennsylvania to Philadelphia and beyond. Its banks through central Philadelphia
have apparently always been parkland, though the water was heavily polluted
until the 1970s or so.
Its primary use now is recreational, particularly for rowing. Kelly Drive is
named after a famous Olympic rower, Jack Kelly. The first photo is of a
grandstand used during rowing regattas (I liked the geometry).
