Depends on which fill-in - in daylight it's great as it's powerful
enough, but in low-light fill-in it's AFAIK less useful because it's
way too much powerful...

About only flash best for lowlight fillin are flashes which let you
choose ANY f/stop from a range (say 2.8-11) for ANY iso speed (e.g.
25-800) like a Metz 36 CT or some newer digital Metzes (and perhaps
the 360FGZ too). Most flashes have auto f/stop too high for use with
high-speed film (like f/11 at 1600 iso) fill-in, which gives you
impossible to handhold shutter speeds.

However, I dunno if for the CT1, but for some 45 series Metzes, there
existed the sensor called Mecamat. Tt fitted into a hotshoe and
plugged into the flash by coiled cable, and also it offered an
improved range of f/stops. Dunno if low enough for lowlight fill-in,
but you could investigate it.
