Take care guys. This "thing" is still with us. The restrictions have also been totally removed is SA as from yesterday. Even although we are up to date with our vaccinations, we choose to continue wearing our masks which gives protection against other airborne bugs too. It will be interesting to see what the colder weather in SA brings. The authorities say that in spite of a low overall vaccination rate, the population has developed high natural immunity. We shall see!

My wife, my son and I all caught Covid at a restaurant end of March. We’re all
triple maxed, so it wasn’t severe. I got a prescription for Paxlovid, and we
were all better in a matter of two or three days.

Yes, I'm home. Just climbing out of a bout of the plague. My own
fault for letting my guard down but I have to say that, if this was a
reduced dose thanks to being fully vaccinated, I wouldn't fancy my chances
of survival of a full one. Actually I may not survive yet, having passed
it on to Cath, who is presently undergoing the full experience and cursing
me by the hour.
Get well soon.

Monday afternoon, the summer intern that I share an 8x12 office with was
feeling poorly, and tested positive for covid when she got home.
On Tuesday morning I tested negative, but have been isolating at home.
I’m planning on a second test tomorrow morning or Saturday.
I haven’t had much in the way of symptoms, other than a bit of a
headache and sleeping for ten hours last night.

Many thanks, all. It definitely affects people differently. Assuming my
wife and I have the same variant, you could be forgiven for thinking that
we are battling different viruses. Only the coughing is a matching sign
and hers is noticeably milder than mine. I can't reinforce enough the
importance of avoiding unmasked gatherings.
