I am not trying to start a political or sociological debate; just curious.

I am amazed, and frankly embarrassed, at the number of Americans obsessed
with the saga of the younger members of the House of Saxe-Coburg and
Gotha.

Are intelligent and educated folks in the UK also obsessed with the ongoing
story, or is it seen as an embarrassment?. Queen Elizabeth II did a lot to
bring dignity and honor to the "royal" family, and the transition could be
a tricky one for Charles III. Is this at all affecting how he is viewed in
Britain?

What impact does this have on the Scots, a sizable minority of whom seem
already disillusioned with their position in the UK?

We live in strange times indeed.
