MY RESPONSE:

The Tamron 80-200 f2.8 is a superb lens..especially wide open.  It always had 
quite a reputation and deservedly so.  Personally if it was a choice between 
the Pentax 70-210  f4 or the Tamron, I'd pick the Tamron without hesitation 
(if size and weight is not a factor, just optical performance).
