Hi Frank! It is said that the Bessa R (and R2) rangefinder is a copy of the CLs. The extra noise comes from the meter cell semaphore retracting out of the light path. The CL is an extremely nice camera, sometimes I wish I hadn sold it. And all Voigtlander lenses fit, with adapter. I still have the instructions - in German - if you have questions contact me off list. All the best! Raimo Personal photography homepage at http://www.uusikaupunki.fi/~raikorho
