Well, I've gone and done it. I'm now a member of the "little brotherhood" in addition to the "big brotherhood".
I purchased an LX this evening. S/N 532xxxx. Hardly a mark on it (a few scratches on the bottom). I can't get over how light this thing is. It handles really well with the SMCP 35mm f/3.5 lens (hear that, Cotty?:) The cost? NZ$900 (about US$450), including a warranty. I softened the blow by trading my "spare" Pentax digital spot meter, and my Tokina 400mm f/5.6 (I actually got more for both of these than I'd paid for them). I better start saving for all these accessories I want (grid screen and waist-level finder comes immediately to mind). I hope Peter's not reading, I'm a bit broke right now ;) It looks like the metering's a bit wonky though... its showing f/8 at 1/15th (400asa) when the Z-1p shows 1s at f/8. I put an old junk film in and it sounds like its exposing for 1 about second in "auto". Changing the ASA setting changes the "auto" exposure so it must be the aperture coupling... or the metering mirror is a bit stuffed (is it meant to look shiny or frosted?). Manual shutter speeds sound OK to my ear. I'm glad I got a warranty! Cheers, - Dave http://www.digistar.com/~dmann/ (out of date) - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
