For street shooting, perhaps (which is primarily what this thread is
about), but FL differences can make a significant practical
difference in how much room (subject to photographer) is needed for
shooting indoors (or in a confined outdoors space).

I enjoy using the compact (and fast) Tokina AT-X 60-120/2.8 for the
exact same versatility.
