I've only had mine for 2 months and no problems yet. I'll admit I don't
find the report cited below promising. Any product has a certain number
of lemons, and I haven't heard of anyone else having AF motor problems.
The most common problem I've heard was that in the early batches of the
MZ-S the auto-rewind was too sensitive and it would rewind a roll in the
middle. Pentax has supposedly fixed that in later batches. I've heard
of no other "consistent" problem that was experienced by a large number
of users.

Software glitches. New AF motor. This was a mecahinal problem - the
drive axle didn't really couple well with the lens. However, the motor
and drive shaft came in one bundle, so they replaced the whole motor
assembly. My camera eventually started to stop down by itself constantly
so they gave me a new body. Unfortunatly, the exposure compensation lock
now only work for overexposure on this my second MZ-S.
