Tonghang, Thanks for the thoughts. I did happen to be in the right place at the right time. Any later and they would have been ready for a fairly boring picture.
I played around in Picture Window to lighten then image a bit and decided that I liked it best as is. I also warmed it a bit compared to the original scan. Certainly monitor calibration may have something to do with what you are seeing. I would be curious if most people are seeing the same cast as you.
