Chris asks good questions about WHY I'd want a Leica rangefinder over a 35mm SLR. First, most of my photography is now done on a medium format SLR (so I don't need another SLR.). I'm looking for a rugged (I beat my equipment up pretty good), compact 35mm system as a light travel kit. I shoot primarily B& W using a modified Zone system, which means I want tack sharp lenses with high contrast. And, lastly, I neither use nor want auto anything!!!
I grew up on a Spotmatic with their solid lenses. And I've owned both the PZ-1p and MZ-S. I love the Limited lenses, but would like a basic five-lens kit; say, 22mm, 31mm, 43mm, 77mm, & 120mm. I really don't think that asking for a quality five-lens kit is very demanding!!! (Especially, since the 43mm Limited lens was introduced FIVE years ago.) Sorry, but waiting on Pentax has drawn my nerves rather tight! (And this from a former PENTAX FAMILY member!) Alexander Grigolia - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
