Hi guys and gals, I won't bother you with the details of the tale. Three weeks ago I brought to the repairman an MX for a CLA, along with a 50/1.4 that worked flawlessly except for a detail: it didn't close past f/11. Not a great problem, but it's annoying to have a lens at 80% of its potential. So I asked the rep to check and repair the lens aperture too. Saturday, at 1:30 PM, I got back the camera and the lens. Now the MX is fine *except* its meter that refuses to work (it only shows overexposure) and, last but not least, the 50mm now has an aperture nicely wider than expected (about 1 stop). And we are even having a badly rainy August...
:-( I have no problem sending the camera back, there's no hurry about it (I hope the rep is not on vacation already, saturday afternoon the shop was closed of course but I'm not sure about today), but the rep is d*** slow and I'd like to take the 50mm with me during my coming travel (it - sigh - was the mintest one among my M 50mm lenses...). I tried to disassemble the lens but the aperture mechanism is not or hardly reachable from the back of the lens. I do have experience with other lenses but this one seems a bit too complicated. The questions: Is there a easy way to reach the mechanism that commands the aperture? What is the right procedure? I'm leaving on Tuesday morning but I won't be able to read the mail from Monday evening on. Thanks in advance, Gianfranco ===== HotJobs - Search Thousands of New Jobs http://www.hotjobs.com - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
