The renowned nature photographer Galen Rowell was killed in a plane crash during this weekend. Rowell was one of the best American landscape photographers and was the author of the best nature photography books ever written (in my opinion). This is a great loss as Rowell was a first rate photographer and an unsurpased comunicator. I had looked forward to 30 more years of Rowells writing on photography. His "mountan Light" book stand as a landmark in photography writing. He will be missed.
