It's very simple. MZ-3 costs, what, $400? The MZ-S costs $1000. Even *_IF_* the MZ-3 fails some time along the road, you can get another one, and still have $200 for a nice lens/flash/etc. Or, look at it this way, maybe in 3-4 years you would be _happy_ if your MZ-3 breaks, and then you say "Oh well, it was only $400", and then you buy the MZ-2 or whatever camera is there to buy at that time.
