>William Robb Perhaps he wants to submit a B&W image to the PUG ? Maybe he wants to share a B&W image with friends/family via email ? Digital ICE and ROC and GEM all do not handle B&W Silver Halide - only C-41 "semi-B&W" (i.e. XP2, Portra 400BW, T400CN etc.) - it's not unique to Nikon either - I have a Minolta Scan Elite II and it is the same - as Rob Studdert in Australia said - get a good antistatic film cloth or a blower or compressed air or all 3 and clean before scanning.
