When converting currency, you'll generally get the best rate if you're
selling the local currency.  For example, I live in the US.  If I were
to visit, say, Hong Kong, I'd get the best exchange rates if I bought
HK$ in the US and US$ in HK.  Even better, in most circumstances, is to
avoid cash currency whenever possible in favor of using a credit card,
where you generally get the best exchange rate, but the card might sock
you with conversion charges, so you must be careful.
