When I got my ZX-5N, I chose a Tamron 28-105 as my all-around lens. I liked
its build quality, autofocus speed, and the fact that the front element did
not rotate. What I despised about it was its "ability" to produce glare
even, with hood on, when sun was anywhere within 90 degrees of front
element. While I liked it for B&W, I found color contrast to be lacking.

So I sold the Tamron and bough the Pentax FA 28-70 f/4. Small, light, sharp,
no flare to speak of. But the range is limited, its a pain to use a
polarizer and a screw-in hood is not much fun to use. The distortion is not
its best characteristic, but its OK for my landscape shooting.

Now come the new 28-105 f3.2-4.5; pretty fast, light, IF, hood, ghostless
coating. Looks like I'll be upgrading again! But I want a black version, not
the silver one, and as usual, the black is not available in U.S.
