Well, with the number of special commemoratives, and other collector's items Leitz has produced, I can see where you'd get that idea. Their lenses are absolutely first rate, however, and worth the price if you can afford them.
To me, Rolleis are at least equal quality, though I'm not a real Rollei 35 fan. I do like their TLRs, SLRs, and their HFT line of lenses.
