I don't think these are really comparable lenses. The Tokina is much bigger, much heavier, faster and has a lesser zoom range. OTOH, the Pentax has a much greater zoom range and is much lighter and more compact. If you need/want the speed and constrution (the Tokina is built like a tank) and can do without the zoom range, the 28-70/2.6-2.8 is a teriffic lens (I have one and it's wonderful).
