Sounds like the klez virus. It renames its payload file attachment, fakes the "from:" line in email headers and scarfs its destination addresses from the victim's address book *and* browser cache. I just got the same virus about an hour ago (possibly) from another PDML person (its difficult to be sure where it really came from).
