Yep, no doubts about the 24-90.  It may seem expensive for a lens with
consumer zoom build quality - that's because ALL the money is spent on
the optics.  It is fantastic.

Only exception is if you want better build and/or faster aperture, you
can get a 3rd party (Tokina/Sigma) pro build F2.8 lens for that money.
The Pentax has the better optics though, and is much lighter...
