The issue is whether or not you are standing on private property. If you 
are in a car park, move fifteen feet further away so that you are 
standing on the sidewalk. Now set your tripod up and take your shot. 
Chances are you will attract the attention of the security here too, and 
they may well put their case, but in a court of law you will prevail. 
Point is, that's in a court of law. Out on the sidewalk, with two burly 
guards, you will cause unnecessary attention, obvious pedanticism, and 
possible personal injury.

The trick is: withdraw and regroup. Go back another day. Be quick and 
shoot fast. Be gone before the security can respond.
