what do you mean? are you talking about *new* cameras? i don't think you can buy that (except super expensive exports from japan) are you talking about ebay? i don't think it existed in '79 do you compare prices in constant $ (say, discounted to '79 values) ?
or you are comparing what you could buy new in '79 to what you can buy used now, and their nominal prices? but that doesn't make much sense -- or am i missing something? best, mishka ----- Original Message ----- From: "Malcolm Smith" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Tuesday, September 17, 2002 4:12 PM Subject: LX sales over the years. > A small observation, which I don't know if this a trend in 35mm film camera > sales, as they form a smaller part of sales; or is it a factor in using an > older 'collectable' camera ? > > My comments apply to second hand purchases. > > In 1979, when I bought my first MX, had I had the cash I could have bought > an LX with a standard lens, but had I not needed the lens, I could have > negotiated for a discount for the body only. > > By the time I was going to buy one, it was all body only, all lenses extra. > > I now see LXs coming on the market, without lenses and viewfinders, and I > also note at the same prices they used to be when they were included. > > Anyone else noticed this ? > > Malcolm > > >
