Dearest Brad, Are you saying that if I had a camera that could shoot at 1/12000 a second then I would get more respect, I think not. My general impression from non-photographers is they know the Pentax brand cause most of them have a P & S. They don't know the difference between N**** or C**** or M***** or Pentax, whether its the price or features. Mostly what impresess them is the fact that my lenses are detachable and that I know which direction to point the thing at. Most clients don't ask me what brand of camera I have but mostly what format I shoot in as some want digital and some what a neg. They will give the chance to work for them according to your portfolio not the badge on the front. Does a fast camera instill confidence in me, no but one that is reliable, and works time after time regardless of what the market perceptions say about other brands. I don't go the well trodden part, and have always done my one thing. I think you do too, or you wouldn't have been the rebel you are and bought a Pentax <G> General definition of a professional is someone who charges for their work even it is only to cover the costs of film & D&P. The day you get paid for a single shot my friend photography will have stopped becoming an expensive hobby and you would have joined the ranks of commercial photography. Sorry had to put my few cents in, but its all my opinion (do you remember what steven seagull said about opinions in one of his movies)
