Hi Dan, Ok, didn't know how much in depth you wanted me to go. Most of the technical aspects of photography I have learnt from books. The Time Life series of books on photography, The complete KODAK book of photography, The complete Guide to Photography by Michael Freeman and The Complete Photography Course By Joseph Michael & Dave Saunders. But I think the one by Michael is a South African edition that he wrote while he was still a South African, don't know if its available elsewhere. In depth info on "everything you always wanted to know..." (my title) is available at :
1) www.kenrockwell.com 2) www.acecam.com , this one has a lot of info as well by a guy called lars bergquist. 3) Tiffen has a good site but are obviously biased to their products.... Its hard to tell someone what filter to use, but if you can find a friendly camera shop maybe they will let you rent some on apro (you usually have to leave a deposit) shot the kind of pics you are trying to achieve and then choose. Or maybe the local camera club has some members who would mind loaning some to you. Glad to be of some help Regards Feroze
