Hi, Raimo, As a general statement, I'd agree that multi-coated lenses flare much less than non-coated or single-coated ones. But the 40mm Summicron C on my Leica CL is not multi-coated, and seems not to be affected much by flare. In fact, the only shot that's flared so far is one (of over a dozen taken) at a beach, in the morning, with the sun low in the sky over the water, shooting down at the water (so it was light from the watert that flared, coming in from all over the place).
Of course, that lens has a very small front element (I think it takes 36mm filters), but then that's part of the lens design isn't it? regards, frank Raimo Korhonen wrote: > People are likely to believe what they want to. > All the best! > Raimo > Personal photography homepage at http://www.uusikaupunki.fi/~raikorho > > -----Alkuperinen viesti----- > Lhettj: Alan <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Vastaanottaja: [EMAIL PROTECTED] <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Piv: 01. lokakuuta 2002 23:32 > Aihe: Re: Canon lenses flares as hell! > > > > >There are people who believed flare control had little to do with > >multicoating, but lens design (I think that's what Canon said).
