1. I have also been ~very~ pleased with some of the older (manual focus) examples of Tokina AT-X glass that I have tried (and some of which I still own and happily use). 2. However, it is not just economy that is involved here, but it is sometimes the lack of comparable Pentax gear that is most significant. Pentax simply does not have a suitable (manual focus) substitute for the AT-X 80-200/2.8 or the AT-X 100-300/4, for example. Fred
